PC POST #188: -REVIEW- Superior Spider-Man Team Up #09

posted by @Ivo

Look who's back? The Punisher is back in a Spider-Man comic with Daredevil! The team of  "Omega Effect" (now with Doc Ock as Spider Man) is back to action for this big Spider Man event "Goblin Nation" it was defined by Marvel's as the "biggest Superior Spider-Man story of all". It's not difficult to guess who is the bad boy of this event.

First of all it's a wonderful thing seeing the same team of "Omega Effect" reunited for this event.

I don't recall of reading anything from Kevin Shinick but i have to tell he did a decent job in this issue! He respected fair enough the characters in this comic and make this issue really interesting for the threat these characters will face. One of the gliders that the Punisher had in one of his warehouses was stolen. Daredevil and Punisher contacted Superior SM to get him up to date. But things turn out bad for the Superior "arrogant" Spider-Man under his nose he got a mole in his base of operations and it seems that the "mole" is not alone.

The set is staged and i'm really looking forward for the next issue... Keep it up Kevin Shinick.

The Punisher was really active in this issue, there was one line i though it were out of character but didn't ruin at all, there was time i found Frank a bit talkative but i didn't dislike it. In my opinion in terms of action he were the one most active, more than Spider-Man and Daredevil. Which i found it great as a Punisher fan. I hope he continues this active in the upcoming issues.

Marco Chechetto artwork is amazing as always, i felt a bit nostalgic seeing him drawing the Punisher, i remember the great Punisher run he had with Greg Rucka two years ago. I wish these guys could back to work together in a Punisher comic.

I will recommend this issue for all the fans of the three characters in it.

PC POST #187: -REVIEW- Punisher and Deathstroke "The Ambush" a fanfic by Black Stone

posted by @Ivo

Today i will present you a new kind of post... I will review a fanfic written by Black Stone. This man have written a few fanfics featuring the Punisher and other characters. He's one of the most enthusiast fans of the Punisher i know. You can found him and the most hardcore fans in GPA ( Global Punisher Army). Link.

Check out Blackstone's fanfics:

Click on this link to read the story. Deathstroke and the Punisher: The Ambush

Deathstroke and the Punisher : The Ambush

Slade Wilson, Deathstroke The Terminator is hunting down The Punisher. There will be blood. And bullets. And death.

This is a short story with more or less 5500 words, anyone can read it in a few minutes, you won't waste time.

This is not the typical Deathstroke vs Punisher story, Blackstone write this story in a very smart way. Besides this story being a fanfic you could believe this could happen in some sort of crossover between the "Big Two".
One thing that was impressive is that when i was reading it, in my head, was like reading a comic book i have imagine all the battles, movements of the characters thanks to all details Blackstone give us in this story. His know how of weaponry is really good too.

By the title you will think that it will be only Punisher and Deathstroke story, you're wrong, this will feat various characters from the two companies (DC & MARVEL). Seat back you will be surprised!

The dialogues are good and the synergy between the characters are great, everyone is in character in this story, don't expect any overate stuff.

The Punisher that is portrayed in this story is the character i love, he is a man with few words but effective as his bullets and this Frank rememeber me the Punisher from the early 90's ( my favorite) not too social but not a robot or a senseless cold killing machine.

This was a great surprise to me and to Frank! ( you will see in this story) Blackstone nail it in every way!

PC POST #186: -REVIEW- Thunderbolts #20

posted by @Ivo

Thunderbolts found a new place to settle (After the sub got sink by Thanos forces), new member (Ghost Rider) and a new mission, give a new address to Mercy... In Hell!

In overal i liked this issue. Charles Soule gave us an entertaining reading keeping a good balance between humour, action and plot.

I really liked the arrival of Ghost Rider, since the beggining of this book i thought that GR should have earned a place in this team so this was a good surprise when they announce it.

What i liked the most is that, FINALLY Ross viewed Mercy as a  problem and someone he can't control (after she killed dozens of people and aliens in Infinity-tie in). I can foresee that Mercy will be the most difficult challenge that this team has ever faced. Personally in 19 issues i never found any difficult challenge that this team couldn't make it.

This was a set up issue, but i believe this will be a starting point to something good.

Carlo Barberi artwork is amazing! I like his artwork and to me one of the best that we have ever seen in this book. I like his style, he draws beautifully every character. I have just one thing to point out as a "downside"... The face of Flash is very similar to Johnny.

I have to mention Israel Silva (Colorist) he did a wonderful job in setting this "dark tone" to the book. In past issues i always thought it were overly colorful... Great work by Israel Silva.

PC POST #185: TRAILER: Black Widow & Punisher animated film.

posted by @Ivo

“After interfering with a top secret mission, The Punisher is taken into custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Avenger Black Widow. At the orders of Director Nick Fury, Punisher and Black Widow are sent on a mission to stop Leviathan, a global terrorist organization that plans to sell stolen S.H.I.E.L.D. technology to the highest bidder. Now, the vigilante and spy must work together to prevent this technology from falling into the wrong hands. The fate of the world, and of the Avengers, hangs in the balance.”
Marvel’s Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher hits Blu-ray, DVD, and digital March 25.
After a year of waiting finally Marvel launched this animated film. It's the same guys from Rise of Technovore. The animation seems really nice and fluid. I hope the story can be better than the last movie.

PC POST #184: More artwork from Punisher #1!

posted by @Ivo

Yesterday Nathan Edmondson posted a link yesterday with an interview and with artwork from Mitch Gerads for Punisher #1 coming up on 5th of Feb 2014...

What Would Frank Do?

I can't wait for this! And we still have a full month to get our hands on this beauty.

From what i've seen about this art, Mitch Gerads is capturing Frank Castle flawlessly. More and more i have high hopes that Nathan Edmondson and Mitch will deliver an epic ride, full of bullets, action and punishment!
